Welcome to the Digestive Health Network!

This site has been prepared to introduce you to our practice, policies, and physicians. While you will find answers to most common questions here, we encourage you to speak to our staff about any concerns we have not addressed.

WHAT IS A GASTROENTEROLOGIST?

Are you experiencing abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, difficulty swallowing, heartburn, indigestion, rectal bleeding, or other problems with your digestive system?

Gastroenterologists are the physicians especially trained to diagnose and treat these disorders of the digestive system.

The comprehensive diagnostic capabilities today include fiberoptic endoscopy, biopsies of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and colon, x-ray (CT scan) guided biopsy of the liver and the pancreas, tests of the hepatic and pancreatic functions, breath tests, ultrasonography, computerized abdominal tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and assessments of gastrointestinal motility, and gastrointestinal vascular status.

The most common diagnostic procedures performed are:

  • Upper GI Endoscopy
  • Colonoscopy
  • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
  • ERCP
  • Liver Biopsy

To learn about these procedures, visit our procedures page.
